These Design Guidelines are intended to serve two important purposes:
- For agencies beginning tenant improvement renovations, provide a resource of the critical qualitative aspects of new office workspace necessary to support new ways of working.
The Design Guidelines can serve as one of the starting points for agencies as they work with design teams to envision their office spaces.
- Begin to establish a common baseline of office quality between agencies, so that employees of all agencies have equal access to office space that supports the new work modalities. A common baseline of quality will help agencies and the Office of the State Architect to shift space assets to accommodate fluctuations in agency needs, without compromising quality of space.
